Toyota is also burning cash as they have asked the Japanese Govt. for $2-$3 Billion. I guess their employee wages and salaries aren't low enough either.Why is Toyota asking the Japanese government for a multibillion dollar bail out?GM stopped funding them.Why is Toyota asking the Japanese government for a multibillion dollar bail out?They are asking them for the bail out because Toyota is a Japanese company. But you are definitely right. Toyota is a Japanese firm: Lifelong employment, benefits till the grave, and cushy salaries and bonuses. Because the car market is global! China and India are the biggest world market for new cars and they are building really cheap ($2500-$3000) cars. Toyota will have to retool to produce smaller and cheaper cars so they can compete.
