Is mitsubishi ascending to the top of car manufacturers like toyota?

I have personally always thought that toyota was always the best people's car manufacturer. However when my Hyundai Elantra was in for a repair, I was given a mitsubishi colt service vehicle. It was the most comfortable, convenient car I had ever driven. I previously thought that the toyota corolla was the greatest car ever. However I now think that the colt has become better!

Are the other mitsubishi cars as good as the colt?

Is Mitsubishi moving up in the order of car manufacturers?

What is the greatest car manufacturer? Is mitsubishi ascending to the top of car manufacturers like toyota? No. Mitsubishi is still a car company running without much cash.

Their interiors, while comfortable, aren't necessarily made of top-notch materials, their manufacturing isn't to the same tight tolerances you'd find in a Honda or a VW.

As far as the "greatest" well, that means a lot of different things. BMW is pretty much seen as the best "Driver's Car" company, making cars that, while practical, have a sportiness to them that makes then very good "tools" for a skilled driver.

That said, many people view Audi as a sort-of "anti BMW." Very capable cars, but with a bit more technology distancing you from the simpleness.

Ferrari, without a doubt, has the most famous and storied race history, and they make some of the fastest, and street capable cars on the road or track, while Land Rover makes the best off-road trucks.

Lexus and Buick have very high manufacturing quality, and Chevy's are known for being very simple, but reliable as the sunrise. (the Corvette is the only really exciting car they make)

Geatest? Depends what you mean. My personal favorite is Aston Martin. Reasonable capable on the track, pretty luxusious, they sound fantastic (but not maybe to the people who love the whine of a Ferrari V8 running at 9200rpm), look terrific, and have a long history. Plus, they are more rare than, say, a Porsche 911 Turbo which may be a more capable track car, faster, etc...and has a long history as well, but they look the same as any other 911, so they don't "stand out."

That said, my next car will proably be a Mazda 3 SportHatch/Wagon. In it's class it's the best looking car, practical, and fun...again, within it's class. Is mitsubishi ascending to the top of car manufacturers like toyota?
NoIs mitsubishi ascending to the top of car manufacturers like toyota?Mitsubishi makes good cars and trucks, but the Toyota vehicle line is far better. Your "seat of the pants" opinion notwithstanding, the Toyota is by far a better car.

The entire Mitsubishi line is of similar quality, but I don't think they'll ever overtake Toyota, which is the JD Powers choice of "Best Manufactured" vehicles in the world. Thanks for the two points!

By the bye, the term "People's Car" should be reserved for Volkswagen, since that is the literal translation from German to English! Is mitsubishi ascending to the top of car manufacturers like toyota?
the colt was one of the worst cars made dude, toyota isnt the number 1 seller when it comes to quality and resale, ITS HONDA... Mitsubishi will never reach hondas level but they have improved a lot over the years..Is mitsubishi ascending to the top of car manufacturers like toyota?Mitsubishi is probably one of the lower manufacturers of Japanese Auto makers. Toyota Honda and Kia are your best bet. Honda's in turn of maintenance and longjevity is the very best!Is mitsubishi ascending to the top of car manufacturers like toyota?
Mitsubishi has gotten better, not even close to Toyota or Honda. Hyundai (sp) is also improving and if you believe the ads. Saturn is also getting better. I owned my one and only saturn so be careful with that one. The worst things on the market right out of the showroom are Kia's, they are total garbage.
Ha ha! Good one. Mitsubishi is getting more and more "American" every year. 3.8 V6 in the new Eclipse that nobody is buying? What is it, a Buick!? I've even heard that the Raider has a Dodge V8 in it.

Mitsubishi makes Japan look bad.
