What sort of factory audio system can I expect to find in my '96 Toyota Camry?

I can't seem to find a site with any specifications for the audio systems in Toyotas, does anyone know of one? Or perhaps just know the specifications for a Toyota Camry LE, '96 off the top of their head?

I'm wanting to know what to expect to be in place in my car, which has had nothing altered in it radio / audio wise. What sort of factory audio system can I expect to find in my '96 Toyota Camry?Well, don't know for sure, but I drove a '92 camry and recently moved into a '97 camry, both LEs. Both came with a standard am/fm/cassette receiver, and then an empty slot beneath it that looks as though it could hold another standard sized receiver.

Both cars also had 4 speaker audio systems; one each in the front door panels, and 2 on the deck above the rear seat. The set up is certainly no-frills, but has surprisingly good sound quality, even at higher volume.

Anything you replace the receiver with will need an additional wiring harness (mine was $15 a few years ago) but should be pretty easy to install yourself.

If you are looking at new equipment, check out http://www.crutchfield.com; you can select the yr/make/model of your car and it will tell you if the components you are looking at are compatible. Good luck! What sort of factory audio system can I expect to find in my '96 Toyota Camry?a crappy one
