Where Can I Find A Diagram With Instructions On Replacing An Engine Air Filter On A 2006 Toyota Sienna Van?

I've checked my owners manual cover to cover and could only find out how to replace the glovebox cabin air filter. If anyone could help me with this, that would be great. Toyota wants to charge me $59.95 parts and labor to replace it when I can do it myself for under $15...Anyhow thanks a lot!Where Can I Find A Diagram With Instructions On Replacing An Engine Air Filter On A 2006 Toyota Sienna Van?yea sienna air filters are a pain if you have never done it before, there is not enough room so move stuff around.

Its sort of a pain because you have very little room for the rear. But you need

10mm socket

Ratchet

3 in extension

Using the ratchet socket and extension loosen the bolt on the air filter box(big black box to the right of the silver "3.3 Liter V6" engine cover) until you can lift the bolt up and down freely.

Now remove the ratchet portion leaving only the extension and 10mm socket. now take the socket and extension and put them on the 10mm bolt in the rear portion of the air filter box. Now get the ratchet and attach it to the extension. Loosen the bolt until its hand loose. Remove the ratchet again from the socket and extension. and loosen the bolt all the way by hand with just the socket and extension. now you should be able to move the air box up and see the filter, while lifting on the edge of the box just enough to remove the filter remove it.

Thats the easy part

now installing it is sort of a pain.

get the new filter and put it in the box(it will only go in one way as it has an extension on one of the corners that goes in the corner on the lower portion of the air box closest to the fender.

now reach your hand into the housing and using your wrist make it so its level and the maneuver the filter until it sits flat just like it should. now put the two holders into there slots in front(can be a pain) and then tighten the two 10mm bolts.

And your done. Its actually worth 59.95 if you have never done one as they can be a real pain if you dont do them everyday.Where Can I Find A Diagram With Instructions On Replacing An Engine Air Filter On A 2006 Toyota Sienna Van?under hood. right side. black box. either 2 clips or 2 10mm bolts hold the lid on. dont open it any more than necessary to get the old one out and put the new one in. there are hoses on the back that can pop off if you open it too far, then tomorrow the check engine light is on. we call it the "jiffy lube special", since the quick lube guys pull it all the way open, and dont see the hoses on the back disconnect, so the light is on a day later, and the customers say"i dont understand, i do all the suggested maintenance, in fact, it was just serviced". we see a few a week for that at the dealership. they try to save $20 going to jiffy or whereever, but spend $60 to 100 for us to fix the light, and reset the maintenance light that jiffy doesnt know how to do. if you do it yourself, at least buy the toyota part, not the auto zone cheapass part.
