How did Toyota become the largest importer of cars into North America?

In the 1960's they sold a few thousand cars and by 2009 they were outselling General Motors. How the heck did they pull that on off ? ?How did Toyota become the largest importer of cars into North America?Quality, and reliability lead to quantity.

I also love the new Chevy commercial which states that the new Impala is more luxurious than a Toyota Avalon....

Have these people even LOOKED into an Avalon before?

Or is Chevy basically saying that they are as luxurious as Lexus/BMW/Audi........

Talk about LYING to the public......How did Toyota become the largest importer of cars into North America?
Low defect rate...basically leading to a more reliable vehicle. You can google "kaizen" and you'll get an idea of their philosophy. How did Toyota become the largest importer of cars into North America?Reliable and cheap to maintain. How did Toyota become the largest importer of cars into North America?
cuz they freakin ruleHow did Toyota become the largest importer of cars into North America? It's called lying to the public. Cheap foreign labor, and copying how to make cars from American auto makers. Yes, they've gone from making cheap bubble gum toys and trinkets to automobiles. The only trouble is that no one can tell the difference between the two even today. One thing is for sure, anybody who reads the Toyota consumer complaints link below would be asking the same question as you. But then, the blind always follow the blind don't they?
