Possible reason for Check Engine and Oil Light on for Toyota Corolla and failing to start?

It's a long story. My 94 Toyota Corolla is dead now after running well for 5 years. Staring from last month or two months ago, when I was driving normally, I could feel the car was accelerating while I didn't move my foot on pedal every few days. Last month, the engine oil light was on 4 times and check engine light was on twice while driving. When the light was on, sometimes the car lost power. When I turned off engine and restart the oil light off again. I checked and filled up the engine oil. Then I went out for a trip for 3 weeks. After coming back and first day to work, I found my battery was dead and has to jumpstart it. Worst things happened when I driving home from work. The two lights was on for several times. At the last 2 times, there was a great pressure on brake pedal and power steering seemed failing. Though this can be reset after restarting, it finally die and couldn't be started with check engine light flashing when turning the key. Is it timing belt or transmission?Possible reason for Check Engine and Oil Light on for Toyota Corolla and failing to start?check the oil for the oil light problem, the weird acceleration problem could be the oxygen sensor, the computer is getting mixed signals and adjusting the fuel/air mixture improperly. I had a windstar that did the same thing.if you have a manual it will tell you how to test the system and the codes for what it means.worst case -take it to a shop and they can put it on the computer and tell you whats going onPossible reason for Check Engine and Oil Light on for Toyota Corolla and failing to start?
you're lucky its a 1994...

i have a 2004 chevy when same things happen..Possible reason for Check Engine and Oil Light on for Toyota Corolla and failing to start?First have the check engine light error codes read out at http://www.autozone.com to diagnose the problem. You must have any red light fault warning on your dash diagnosed immediately. The car cannot be driven long with a red dash light on for any reason without risking damage to your engine (as your car's owner's manual instructs!). You need to have a professional oil pressure shop gauge connected to your engine directly to measure the oil pressure once the oil level is full and the light still comes on.Possible reason for Check Engine and Oil Light on for Toyota Corolla and failing to start?
