Is there supost to be a transmision dipstick on a 2006 toyota tundra with a 4.7v8 engine?

I'm missing my transmissionsn dipstick on my 2006 toyota tundra v8 4.7whichh I just bout a short timeago, and I wanted to check my transmision fluid and I noticed that I had no Dip stick to check it. I was woundering if it had one and should have someone look at it.Is there supost to be a transmision dipstick on a 2006 toyota tundra with a 4.7v8 engine? On that particular vehicle there is no dipstick. There is a fill plug and an overflow plug on the transmission itself. To fill the transmission, you must use the Toyota manufacturer's automatic transmission fluid and have the vehicle on a flat, level surface. Remove the overflow plug and place a drain pan under it to catch any excess that runs out. Remove the fill plug, and fill the transmission with approved fluid until it begins to run out of the overflow hole. Wait until the excess has finished draining out, then reinstall the overflow and fill plugs and you're all set.Is there supost to be a transmision dipstick on a 2006 toyota tundra with a 4.7v8 engine?
All automatic transmissions (P-R-N-D-1-2) should have a dipstick. If you can't locate it - look for a yellow (pretty typical of toyota to use yellow) T handle or in the very least - look along sides of the engine. A V8 doesnt leave much room for viewing stuff - so manufacturers tend to extend something like that so it is level with the top. Try near the firewall and - maybe it IS black - but I doubt it. Good luck. I guess the owners manual doesnt show it huh? most of those books are useless. Is there supost to be a transmision dipstick on a 2006 toyota tundra with a 4.7v8 engine?you should be able to look at the front of the transmission pan and locate a check plug, i believe it is a 8 mm allen, bu tit has been years. with the engine running and warm and level pull that plug out. if it dribbles, you are ok, if it pours out, the transmission is over full. if nothing comes out, you are either not warm enough or the transmission is low.
