Are companies such as Toyota considered method of Globalization?

I'm supposed to write a paper on globalization of Japan and such and write on Japan's position on it. So are companies like Toyota considered a strategy to globalize the economy and such? Are companies such as Toyota considered method of Globalization? They can be. However, Toyota, although being a globalisation success story was actually protected very strongly by the Japanese government in its early days. I.e. it was prevented from having full exposure to the international markets (where it wouldn't be able to compete with already well-developed industries) it was only once Toyota had 'grown' that it started to compete in the global market. This is an example of the 'Infant Industry' argument - something which must be mentioned in any paper on globalisation!
