What benefit is a V8 over a V6 for an SUV, specifically the Toyota 4Runner? When is a V8 worth the extra cost?

I want to buy a new or used (no earlier than 2006) Toyota 4Runner with the sports edition trim. I plan on keeping my Corolla and using the 4Runner for trips, winter/bad-weather driving, and hauling things. I can't see myself pulling trailers very often, if ever, but I do like more power. Thanks! What benefit is a V8 over a V6 for an SUV, specifically the Toyota 4Runner? When is a V8 worth the extra cost?i have a 2005 4runner sport edition and i love it so much it is so powerful, we are always pulling trailers and what not, it does really good in the winter. and i love the way that the sport edition looks because of the hood and then the spoiler in the back. it wouldn't hurt to get the v8 because you said you like the power.
