How much will it cost to replace 2 pistons in a 2000 toyota sienna?

My toyota sienna blew two pistons the other night. i need to replace them but i am curious how much i might have to pay. anybody out there with this unfortunate experience? How much will it cost to replace 2 pistons in a 2000 toyota sienna? Why did they blow? I'd be more worried about scoring of the cylinders. They can't be bored so you might be looking at replacing the block too. Get a good used motor from a wrecker with a warranty. How much will it cost to replace 2 pistons in a 2000 toyota sienna?as an auto mechanic i'd quote you at at LEAST $10 per pistonHow much will it cost to replace 2 pistons in a 2000 toyota sienna?Unless u have some one who u can trust to do the work id seriously consider looking at another van...its 10 years old and uve shot the motor..which is not normal for a Sienna..unless its got 200,000 on it..It would cost u more than the van is worth to replace it..How much will it cost to replace 2 pistons in a 2000 toyota sienna?
I disagree with the last answer. My advice: Go with a low mileage used Japanese engine. These engines are imported from Japan. Do a search on "Used Japanese engines in (your area or city)" I'm sure that there are distributors out there. You may pay $1500-2000 to have it replaced. It may even costs less. Anyway, the engines are pressure tested before they are sold and do come with a warranty (sometimes 6 months, sometimes 12 months). Basically they pull yours and put the newer one in. It will probably cost you the same or less than having yours rebuilt. Also, it will usually have less miles on it than your engine has- unless you have very low miles. Still I believe that option is your best bet. A 2000 Sienna is definitely worth putting even a brand new engine into if you wanted to- regardless of it being 9 years old. The resale value dictates that. Unlike most 9 year old vehicles, your Sienna is still worth more than an engine replacement or rebuild.
