How do I make my 1981 Toyota Celica GT manual faster?

I'm going to buy from my dad a 1981 Toyota Celica GT stick shift, and I want to make faster but also gas efficient but being gas efficient is not my priority but a plus,I already bought a turbo air intake but that is not enough.Oh yeah it has 22r engine on it with 400,000 miles but it still runs great. Please helpHow do I make my 1981 Toyota Celica GT manual faster?Let me get this straight. You want to take a 30 year old car with over 400,000 miles on it, make it faster, so you can beat the crap out of it. And you expect this souped up 30 year old car with 400,000 miles on it to last you how long? Yea, lots of luck with that.

But you want an answer and here's what you would do.

The very first things you would do before you start making any modifications.

Remove and overhaul the engine. During the overhaul have the engine balanced and blueprinted. Install racing pistons. Have the heads ported and polished. Install racing cams. Replace the intake manifold and carburetor with something with more CFM capacity, maybe a 350 CFM Holley. Install headers. Install an MSD ignition system.

Remove and overhaul the transmission. If you are planning serious performance upgrades you will need to install stronger parts.

Replace the clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and flywheel. Use parts intended to handle your target horsepower. If you are planning serious power stock parts won't cut it.

Replace the universal joints. Overhaul the rear end. Replace all of the wheel bearings. Replace all of the suspension bushings. Replace the brakes.

Then simply find a parts catalog that sells parts for your 1981 Toyota and open up your wallet. The more money you spend the faster it will be.How do I make my 1981 Toyota Celica GT manual faster?Ok, we will ignore the age and miles, and wisecracks about the speed of free fall and the nearest cliff, and some of the things to improve things for not too much money is free flowing exhaust and intake.

Exhaust headers channel the gasses out in a smoother action than the standard iron manifold through a larger pipe to a bigger muffler with less resistance. This improves horsepower and economy, for average driving. If you stick your foot down, of course gas mileage will suffer. A high performance air filter will help a little bit too.

There are also spacer plates to go between the carburetor and manifold to increase torque.

Of course there are better camshafts and pistons, but, really, it's too old for thatHow do I make my 1981 Toyota Celica GT manual faster?u can update ur car's engine or u can use castrol to run ur car's engine faster and to reduce heat generation into the piston.it is really working good.
