I'm going to buy from my dad a 1981 Toyota Celica GT stick shift,and I want to make faster but also gas efficient but being gas efficient is not my priority but a plus,I already bought a turbo air intake but that is not enough.Oh yeah it has 22r engine on it with 400,000 miles but it still runs great.Please helpHow do I make my 1981 Toyota Celica GT manual faster?Let me get this straight. Replace the clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and flywheel. Use parts intended to handle your target horsepower. If you are planning serious power stock parts won't cut it.

Replace the universal joints. Overhaul the rear end. Replace all of the wheel bearings. Replace all of the suspension bushings. Replace the brakes.

Then simply find a parts catalog that sells parts for your 1981 Toyota and open up your wallet.
