86 toyota cold start rough idle and stumbling?

I have an 86 toyota pickup that idles rough at cold start and stumbles at low rpms. It has only 84,000 original miles and was basically unused for a year. what could be the problem? emissions, carb, distributor? has new wires, plugs and cap. ran cleaner through the tank.

thanks so much86 toyota cold start rough idle and stumbling?Definitely sounds like breathing/ignition type problems. If you called out the roadside assistance, they'd check what you've already replaced, as well as air filter, fuel filter.

Unused for a year, you say? Does the fuel smell funky/look dark - it may have gone stale.

Check the fuel %26amp; filters then if it's still playing up, call a mobile engine tune and have a diagnostic done. They're not too expensive (esp with the mobile guys) and will usually pinpoint the problem, without further ado.86 toyota cold start rough idle and stumbling?well there is a cold start injector that add fuel on cold mornings as well as a cold start time switch I am assuming you have the 22re you might pull those and clean em up

might also go here www.customtacos.com these guys are sharp!86 toyota cold start rough idle and stumbling? If it has a carb. use some choke and carb spray cleaner, sounds like choke is sticking and lube throttle plates, linkage as needed. I also like Marvel mystery oil in gas gives a little lube to upper engine.
