I have a 95 toyota 4runner and when the car is cold it will not go faster than 40 miles?

I have a 95 toyota 4runner and when the car is cold it will not go faster than 40 miles but once warmed completly, the line is on the middle gauge line it goes faster than 40. When driving on the freeway, 60-65 my rpm is between 2 1/2 and close to 3. The transmission runs great and shifts perfectly and no check engine lights.Any advice will be helpful.I have a 95 toyota 4runner and when the car is cold it will not go faster than 40 miles? The reason is because your transmission oil is cold and it will not accept the gears when its cold.I have a 95 toyota 4runner and when the car is cold it will not go faster than 40 miles?the worst thing you can ever do to your car is start it up and just take off driving. when the car is colder than normal op temp none of the emission system is working all the sensors are sending info to the pcm and the pcm is making all sorts of adjustments to compensate for that. so please warm it for five minutes ok everyone.... and check the fluid and give the trans a service
