What do you think Toyota's new product pricing strategy was?

What do you think Toyota's new product pricing strategy was (second generation Prius)? Do you agree with their strategy? Would you change it? How would you change it? Would you pay more than sticker price? What do you think Toyota's new product pricing strategy was?- What do you think Toyota's new product pricing strategy was (second generation Prius)?

Based on cost of manufacturing.

- Do you agree with their strategy?

Yes.

- Would you change it?

No.

- Would you pay more than sticker price?

I didn't pay more than sticker for either of the two Prius that I purchased. There was no reason to. No one who was willing to do a little leg work paid more than sticker.

Because you mention this, charging more than sticker had nothing to do with Toyota. It was done entirely by some (not all) Toyota dealer. Toyota cannot tell the dealers what to sell for, and Toyota has no control over the dealers other than is what in the dealer agreement. That mostly says they have to use certain signs, pay their bills, purchase a certain amount of cars, and spend a certain amount on advertising.
