How come Toyota is struggling this year?

Dave Blaney deserves credit for 2 top ten finishes the last 2 races but how come Toyota is not doing very well? How come Toyota is struggling this year?Well, I dont know how we can say its just this year. This is their first year after all. I think that if they have a year better than this, then we could say they were struggling this year. But I would imagine the first year would always be hard no matter what make the car is.How come Toyota is struggling this year?
You cant say that the drivers are not talented. They have some really great drivers to be honest. It is their first year at the nextel cup level and there will be some growing pains which is obvious. However this past week at Michigan, Blaney ran really strong and dont forget about Brian Vickers being up front for awhile. Car fell off towards the end but was running strong. Their time will come. Maybe not this year but I look for them to be very competitive next year.

GO TRUEX #1How come Toyota is struggling this year?because maybe they picked the wrong drivers
Everyone-including Toyota-new that success would be in the future. No team or brand car has had instant success. How come Toyota is struggling this year?Gee if they weren't struggling, than Jack Roush would say they bought the win..he is/was so against them coming in he had to go get a baseball team to help him keep up..LOL. when Toyota hit the Truck series it took about 4 years to be dominating and in that fourth year it was a Toyota that took the championship...as with anythign that is new, gotta work out the bugs to get it working right.

and they have awesome drivers driving for them..Mikey, Brian, David R,and Dale J, AJ and Blaney...give them time and they are gonna kick some Chevy butt!!

Go MWR!! I hope David R gives Toyota their first win and if not him I want it to be Brian Vickers!!How come Toyota is struggling this year?
it's their first year in Nascar. give them some credit for even trying to compete. they will do better in the future.
They are new and don't have the experience yetHow come Toyota is struggling this year?
I don't understand Toyota. They have the biggest budget in F1 at $300 million, but they've had no success and seem to be getting worse each year. Now they are in NASCAR for what reason? They've proven they can't compete in a technical series. I guess now they are going to show they can't compete in a more or less spec series that uses 30 year old engine technology??? It's not like they need the publicity to improve market share...
They'll get better I'm sure. This is just the first year and percentage wise not too many teams have picked them up yet on the Nextell Cup. Toyota has scored a win in the Bush series and have scored many wins in the Truck series. Next year Gibbs plans to pick up Toyota and with their determination I'm sure you'll see a lot more success.
Because Toyota can't produce a car worth crap, that's why.
just take a look who's driving for them, that should give you a hint,
New teams, trying to figure out new equipment. When Dodge came back to NASCAR they struggled too. Like Toyota they funded a new team (Evernham) and hired a former champion (Bill Elliott).

Adding to the inevitable growing pains, NASCAR made Toyota bring a brand-new engine to Cup, rather than using the Truck engine which has done so well. They'll get it figured out.
I know but toyota has like these young people. They don't have veterans like Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, and Kurt Busch But in a few years I think toyota going to be one of the best brands ever! I just mean that Dave Blaney isn't enough for toyota to shine Brian Vickers, David Reutimann, and Michael Waltrip are really struggling but in a few years toyota will be one of the best brands ever!
It is their first year in the sport not to mention they are the first foreign nameplate it a long time to enter Cup racing.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that they will not succeed in Cup racing.

They have the money and the brains to whip all those southern good ole boys.

Nascar is just controlling the rate at which they can succeed. They don't want to loose any fan base. If Toyota was to come into the sport and win half to races the first year it would throw their whole system out of whack.

Please understand that Nascar is about money and within three years Toyota will be winning their fair share of races.

Remember they have to get the fans use to the idea.

In ideal year for Nascar is for every make to have an equal amount of wins. Look for Nissan and Honda in the future. It broadens the fan base and makes more money for Nascar.

They will change whatever rules needed to get all makes winning equally.

Wasn't it just this past July that foreign car sales rose above domestic car sales for the first time in history???

Thank NAFTA for all this mess!!!
Its there first year. How many professional teams in any sport have excelled their first year in that sport? Give Toyota a year or 2 and they'll be serious contenders.
They do not have the talent yet. it will take them a while to build up the teams they need to win.
Because they didn't take the approach last season that they are going to take this season.. Landing a MAINSTREAM race team.. as in Joe Gibbs Racing.. I think it's a done deal and no one is leaking it right now to keep manufacturer support high going into the CHASE. I seriously think JGR will be in Toyotas next season, and I think Tony Stewart will land his first Daytona 500 victory in a Toyota and Toyota gets there first win via Stewart. I may have to drink myself to sleep that night though.. seein' a damn Toyota in victory lane after the Daytona 500..
because they put a plant in san antonio
Did you walk the first time you tried? How about that bicycle your parents put you on - ride that like a pro all at once ? I didn't think so. It's called practice - if at first you don't succeed, ......... If this doesn't quite work, then we'll adjust this. They have to learn from the ground up without somebody in this class of NASCAR having set a precedence with that particular car, chassis and motor. They have come a long way already and with JGR next year, they will make it look easy. I can only imagine the size of the research and development team he already has working on these cars.
