I have a 1994 Toyota Corolla. I had the Water pump and the thermostat replaced. However, the same over heating problem remains with this car. Along with the overheating condition, there is water leakage around the water pump area. Other problems include: lack of proper heat from the vent when the temperature is set at the max heat setting. What can I do in order for this problem to stop?1994 Toyota heating problem. What can I do in order for this problem to stop? You have a clogged heater core.
It is costly and a huge pain in the @$$ to replace
the heater core, I would suggest unhooking the
two hoses and spray some oven cleaner into both of them
going to the heater core.
Then, tape the crap out of a water hose to the OUTPUT hose
make sure it is the OUTPUT hose and turn on the water after
you have given the oven cleaner a couple minutes to soak.
It should blow out the crap in there....keep clear of it and don't
get it in your face.
This will get your heat back and aleviate your pressure build up,
but you may very well still have a bad water pump or seal around
the water pump if it is leaking....it shouldn't.
