Ideas on how to prevent Toyota Sienna break in?

I am looking for ideas on how to prevent my car, Toyota Sienna with factory alarm, from being broken into. Someone has gotten into my car on three separate occassions in the middle of the night. My car alarm did not sound off at any time so I suspect whoever it is might have a device to circumvent the system. Luckily, nothing was taken except for some change. I've contacted the local authorities and was not given too much help. Does anyone have any advice on how to deter or prevent these break ins? Thanks in advice.Ideas on how to prevent Toyota Sienna break in?Are you certain you are arming the alarm ? Many alarms require you to arm it.

Contact your Toyota dealer and explain what is happening. If the alarm is being bypassed there will be signs that the dealer can see/find.

Chances are the alarm is either not arming when you try to arm it or the sensitivity is set too low.

The dealer can show you how to arm it if that is the problem and can increase the sensitivity if you want it increased.Ideas on how to prevent Toyota Sienna break in?
I hate to tell you this but you are finding out with even a factory alarm some one is breaking in.

My view is no matter what a person does. If some one wants to break in and etc they will as you found out find a way to do it.

Several suggestions for you. Have you tryed motion detector lights and what about those real small camers.Ideas on how to prevent Toyota Sienna break in?Well, I think you need to get another alarm system. Perhaps they are disconnecting the battery? Here's a real simple idea, grease up the door handles, that will dirty their fingers and then go around the neighborhood and check everyone's door knobs for grease. Or, you can pile up a bunch of tin cans just inside the door... first do the grease trick to know which door they are using. Finally... if you know how often they are doing this, sleep in the van and surprise them!Ideas on how to prevent Toyota Sienna break in?
First off, if someone wants your car, they will get it even if you had three working alarms and a club. Break ins aren't difficult for even a novice thief. Break a window, take what you want, and leave. the only thing that can stop that is an armor plated car with bullet-proof glass. However, if your alarm didn't sound, you may have a horn defeat switch. I\ have a Toyota Previa with the horn defeat feature and it has a factory alarm. I'm not sure if your Sienna has it though. I do know that if your doors are locked from the outside, you factory alarm should've automatically set itself.Ideas on how to prevent Toyota Sienna break in?Some Toyotas have wireless door locks without having an alarm system. Do this: roll down the window, close the door and lock it with the remote. Then reach in through the open window, unlock the door and open it. If you have an alarm, it should sound. If you don't, it won't! If it doesn't go off, have an alarm system installed. I am assuming that they did not break a window, as you didn't mention having to replace one three times. My next question is, "what are the chances of someone having made a key to fit your van?" May sound silly, but stranger things have happened. Replacing the locks can be somewhat pricey, but it is an alternative.

Good luck and God Bless!
