How much would a 1994 toyota cost?
Im selling my 1994 toyota corolla, it has 129k miles, is well maintained, I recently changed a lot of things, like the timing belt, the water pump, the brakes, it has new tires, new windshield, new ac cabinet filter, made an oil change, the interior is in perfect conditions, the engine works perfectly. i've take care of it so well... even though is from 1994 the car looks and runs like a 1999 car. How much could i sell it for?How much would a 1994 toyota cost?129k isn't that high for an old Corolla. depending on the bodywork's condition, i'd say you could probably get $1500-2000 for it. you can get the blue book value from kbb.com, but older cars are usually only worth what someone's willing to pay.How much would a 1994 toyota cost?http://www.kbb.com/toyota/corolla/1994-t鈥?/a>How much would a 1994 toyota cost?I would say 2000
How do I adjust the aim of my headlights on a 2002 Toyota Tacoma?
I lifted my truck and the headlights now aim too high! I need to adjust the aim downward so they point towards the road in front of me instead of straight ahead. If someone can explain the necessary steps required to perform the task on a 2002 Toyota Tacoma I would appreciate it very much. Thanks!!! How do I adjust the aim of my headlights on a 2002 Toyota Tacoma? It's a screwdriver type with a torx head on it.

Where can I find / buy an navigation system upgrade for a 2002 toyota prius?
I have a 2002 toyota prius.
It does not have a navi but has the buttons in the dash to support on (map, destination)
Where can I find pricing and installation information for a navigation system?Where can I find / buy an navigation system upgrade for a 2002 toyota prius?I also had a 2002 Prius, but mine had the nav system. One of the big rages back then was that the buttons were there, but the nav system wasn't, unless you paid for the option. On the original Prius newsgroup, it was hashed back and forth for literally months, and some really bright people tried to do it. Unfortunately, what they found out was that the Prius was wired for the nav system - or it wasn't - at the factory, and that it could not be added afterwards. Now, that is only for the system that Toyota included with the Prius. You can absolutely add an aftermarket nav system to the Prius, but it will not interface like the original into the MFD. You might try www.coastaletech.com as they did a ton of add-ons for all of the Prius, though I don't know if they were ever successful with adding a fully integrated nav system from scratch. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm afraid unless someone has done a ton of work since then,it is the answer. Something to consider is that for you to add the factory nav system might be so expensive that it might cheaper to by another Prius with it in the car already. Good luck.Where can I find / buy an navigation system upgrade for a 2002 toyota prius?

There is one going right now for about $500 as of today (5/27/07). It will be a hit or miss since this is a fairly rare newer car. Also check with junk yards locally. http://www.crutchfield.com - they have everything - typer in the make and model and they'll hook you upWhere can I find / buy an navigation system upgrade for a 2002 toyota prius?Hi,
Fujitsu makes the navigation system for Toyota and it is possible to purchase the Fujitsu system as an afternarket mod that will look and act just like the original factory install. You can even play DVD's on the aftermarket install, which you can't on the original factory install. And on the unit I saw installed, the screen slid out and tilted up for viewing, very cool. The price for the custom install in a Scion tC was about $1600 back in 2005.
Having said that, however...
The wiring harness will not be in place to link the nav to your steering wheel buttons. Also, you don't want someone mucking about in your Prius innards, there's just not enough information out there for this to be a doable option.
It would be a rare person who would understand the systems, placement of components, and the proprietary computer systems integrated into the Prius to make this work without ruining the functions you have now. It will cost much more than it's worth in both money and installation expertise.
My advice, seriously, is to get a good atlas and plan ahead (old school, but very good) or to research Consumer Reports and see what they recommend for an aftermarket "on the dash" system like a Garman or some such.
Good luck, and please don't crack open your dash for this.Where can I find / buy an navigation system upgrade for a 2002 toyota prius?

What would make a 1983 Toyota Celica Supra keep blowing the EFI fuse every time I turn the key to ACC position?
1983 Toyota Supra keeps blowing the EFI fuse when I turn the key to Acc not even trying to start it?What would make a 1983 Toyota Celica Supra keep blowing the EFI fuse every time I turn the key to ACC position?A power wire is shorted out. When you turn on the switch, it sends power to the wire, which is grounding out, and popping the fuse. My guess would be a wire got hot and melted the insulation off and it's shorting out on you. Good Luck.
Toyota Granvia automatic. Why is it that when I am changing gears from N to D or R the rear end raising up?
I was just wandering why is it that whenever I changes gears (automatic) the rear end of Toyota Granvia (japanese version) raising up? Rear Wheel Drive.Toyota Granvia automatic. Why is it that when I am changing gears from N to D or R the rear end raising up?torque.
When the transmission is in gear, torque is transmitted by the driveshaft to the rear end, from which torque multiplied by the rear end gear ratio is sent to the wheels. When you shift, you have your foot on the brake, preventing the wheels from turning, so the rear end twists due to the torque, resulting in the rear suspension links rotating, raising the rear end.Toyota Granvia automatic. How to modify a 1995 Toyota Japanese import factory stereo?
I just bought a 1995 Toyota LandCruiser 70 series. Its a Japanese import and it comes with a very nice factory stereo. Unfortunately the fm only ranges from 75.0 to 90.0.
Can I modify the factory stereo to have the range of 90.0 to 108.0?
Is it possible? Or do I have to get those Sony plug in stereos?
If this is of any help, I'm in New Zealand.

What does overdrive on a Toyota Sienna do?
I have a 2000 toyota sienna and have a button for overdrive and i have no idea what it's for. What does overdrive on a Toyota Sienna do?Overdirve is a 4th gear for the transmission. It lowers the RPM's at highway speeds to improve gas mileage. Most newer cars do not have a button to switch in and out of OD, its fully automatic. Personally, I like to easily switch out of OD for passing or towing, but its not as common anymore. What does overdrive on a Toyota Sienna do?The overdrive allows your engine to turn slower when running at highway speeds. It greatly improves your gas mileage over not using it. When you turn it on it generally won't engage until you reach 45 MPH or so.
2008 Grand Caravan or 2008 Toyota Sienna Which do you think is the better value?
Ive looked at the stats and was really surprised when I found out that the Dodge has been more reliable. So I looked at the price and found out the Dodge was a lot less money I mean like 4000.00 dollars less. So Now I am confused should I buy the toyota just because its a totyota? Dodge now has the Lifetime Warranty and has trendy features that the Toyota doesn't. The Sienna is an overpriced piece of crap. I would not buy a Toyota because of what they are doing to the American Car Business. We allow almost every Asian car manufacturer into the United States, but when we try to get Chrysler into China, japan and Korea, they will not let us, talk about disrespect.2008 Grand Caravan or 2008 Toyota Sienna Which do you think is the better value? The 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan is in its first year while the Toyota Sienna has had the same design since 2004. Buying a vehicle the first year after a major redesign is never a good idea. I would go with the Toyota Sienna this time. You'll save yourself $4000 in frustration.raw food

Neighbour skidded into our car damaging boot and spoiler, its unrepairable so we're looking to find one as he could sort it himself %26amp; it would be cheaper than him going through insurance. Ideas on how to prevent Toyota Sienna break in?
I am looking for ideas on how to prevent my car, Toyota Sienna with factory alarm, from being broken into. Someone has gotten into my car on three separate occassions in the middle of the night. My car alarm did not sound off at any time so I suspect whoever it is might have a device to circumvent the system. Luckily, nothing was taken except for some change. I've contacted the local authorities and was not given too much help. Does anyone have any advice on how to deter or prevent these break ins? Thanks in advice.Ideas on how to prevent Toyota Sienna break in?Are you certain you are arming the alarm ? Many alarms require you to arm it.
Contact your Toyota dealer and explain what is happening. If the alarm is being bypassed there will be signs that the dealer can see/find.
Chances are the alarm is either not arming when you try to arm it or the sensitivity is set too low.
The dealer can show you how to arm it if that is the problem and can increase the sensitivity if you want it increased.Ideas on how to prevent Toyota Sienna break in?
I hate to tell you this but you are finding out with even a factory alarm some one is breaking in.
My view is no matter what a person does. If some one wants to break in and etc they will as you found out find a way to do it.
Several suggestions for you. Have you tryed motion detector lights and what about those real small camers.Ideas on how to prevent Toyota Sienna break in?Well, I think you need to get another alarm system. Perhaps they are disconnecting the battery? Here's a real simple idea, grease up the door handles, that will dirty their fingers and then go around the neighborhood and check everyone's door knobs for grease. Or, you can pile up a bunch of tin cans just inside the door... first do the grease trick to know which door they are using. Finally... if you know how often they are doing this, sleep in the van and surprise them!Ideas on how to prevent Toyota Sienna break in?
First off, if someone wants your car, they will get it even if you had three working alarms and a club. Break ins aren't difficult for even a novice thief. Break a window, take what you want, and leave. the only thing that can stop that is an armor plated car with bullet-proof glass. However, if your alarm didn't sound, you may have a horn defeat switch. I\ have a Toyota Previa with the horn defeat feature and it has a factory alarm. I'm not sure if your Sienna has it though. I do know that if your doors are locked from the outside, you factory alarm should've automatically set itself.Ideas on how to prevent Toyota Sienna break in?Some Toyotas have wireless door locks without having an alarm system. Do this: roll down the window, close the door and lock it with the remote. Then reach in through the open window, unlock the door and open it. If you have an alarm, it should sound. If you don't, it won't! If it doesn't go off, have an alarm system installed. I am assuming that they did not break a window, as you didn't mention having to replace one three times. My next question is, "what are the chances of someone having made a key to fit your van?" May sound silly, but stranger things have happened. Replacing the locks can be somewhat pricey, but it is an alternative.
Good luck and God Bless!

How do you like your Toyota Rav4?
I'm currently in the process of doing some research for a new car and am very interested in the Toyota Rav4's. Just wanted to know how people like, or don't like, theirs, it seems like it would be a good fit for my husband and I to have with our dog and eventually a family?! Any thoughts? How do you like your Toyota Rav4?Well... The RAV4 has always been a favourite vehicle... It has great looks, good gas milage, above avg. reliability rating, good performance and sufficient space.. I don't own a RAV4 but my friend does and he's completely delighted over it. I too am impressed by it.. You shouldn't be worried to consider a RAV 4 with all its plus points plus it has a good re-sale value too... Very few vehicles can match it... Since you can't buy the Nissan X-Trail in the US, don't think twice, just go for the RAV4.How do you like your Toyota Rav4?Toyota has great resale value It will be good for the dog but not the family to small

It is very reliable, mostly because it's been around since the mid eighties, and that also means they know exactly what the public would want new to their van. Toyota only started producing the Sienna since 1998, and it wasn't too spectacular and hasn't changed much. http://www.dodge.com/en/2008/grand_carav鈥?/a>2008 Grand Caravan or 2008 Toyota Sienna Which do you think is the better value? The nonprofit organization Consumer Reports rates the Toyota Sienna as FAR SUPERIOR in quality over the dodge.

What do you think about Toyota in NASCAR?
Like it or not? Personally, I'm a traditionalist at heart and favor the american cars, but Toyota might bring some good competition! What do you think about Toyota in NASCAR?Well it kinda turned my gut that Dale Jarrett drives a Toy now. The car sure didn't do much, I know Dale can drive, so I will lay the blame on the car. LOLWhat do you think about Toyota in NASCAR?
Nascar is an american sport left and foriegners are trying to invade it. They need to stick to what they know, and it aint stock cars.
Like everyone has said ,all our american sports seem to be turning into foriegn events..Next thing you know the sport will be going over seas and racing in the next Won Ton 500,It just doesn't make since!
National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing. What's the first word????? It is not and never has been International, and I'm not very fond of the idea.
it will be good, mate!!!What do you think about Toyota in NASCAR?
It doesn't matter to me, Mikey and Dale aren't going to be able to do anything with Toyota.
Toyota will first have to get some drivers...
I thank it just plain sucks!!!! I also think it should stay American manufactures also. I am not impressed with Nascar ever since it was sold to Nextel. They don't care about the history. All they care about is stepping on the real fans in order to try and get more money no matter what the cost. Honestly how many months has it been celebrating black history month? Nothing against blacks but wow they are really wanting to market to them and the Hispanic community. What next? By bringing toyota in are they going to force teams to race once a year in Japan? As if bringing in the car of tomorrow was not expensive enough.
Get rid of Brian France already!
It's early, Toyota will take a while to really become competitive with the other manufacturers. I don't expect too much in the first year, but I won't be too surprised if they do manage to win races.
And the fact that Toyotas are made in America makes it American enough to me.
Their showing in the Bud Shootout was pretty much what I expected, but of course, new manufacturers don't just jump in and run like everyone else does.
Overall, Toyota is making things more interesting in the NASCAR world.
Hello, George Bitar here,
Toyota didn't have a great showing tonight, but I think they will be up and coming.
Thanks,
George Bitar
the toyota cars sucked today and will suck the whole year.
OH NO Who is next KIA . Get them out now.
My fiance feels Toyota shouldn't be in it. As for me, I'm just starting to get into NASCAR just a little, so I don't know much. But I'm not going to ask him again, you should've heard him tonight for the Bud Shoot Out. Nahhhhhh, don't think I'll get into it right now.
Do Not ENTER! Wrong Way! Caution! Nascar/Nextel Cup DJ (Dale Jarrett) fans have got to be sick this morning seeing there driver DJ a Champion, in foreign jap crap last night in the Bud Shootout in Daytona Beach, Florida.
This is a sad day for loyal Winston Cup/Nextel Cup fans. What happen to the All American Race Nascar? Is it not bad enough that foreign cars consume are American Highways and jobs. Damn near every part is made over sea's.
Wake up America your losing the race!
Nascar is an american sport left and foriegners are trying to invade it. They need to stick to what they know, and it aint stock cars.

it will be good, mate!!!What do you think about Toyota in NASCAR?

Would a Toyota Prius be a good car to buy?
I found a used 2006 Toyota Prius with 24,000 miles. Its an automatic with keyless ingition and very nice features. No problems with it. What do you know about the Toyota Prius?Would a Toyota Prius be a good car to buy?Hi,
I'll give you lots of the basics to clarify what you are looking at with a full hybrid like the Prius. It's a bit of info, so stay with me (updated 3/19).
The Prius has been independently reviewed by Consumer Reports as their top pick for consumer satisfaction for the fourth year in a row based on responses from actual owners combined with their own testing. 92% of all owners say they would buy another, or recommend the Prius for purchase.
IntelliChoice just named the 2009 Prius again as the vehicle with the lowest total cost to own. This total cost includes initial purchase price, insurance, cost to maintain, and depreciation value.
It is a myth that the Prius needs more maintenance than a standard vehicle. Less maintenance also means less components in the vehicle and less to throw away or rebuild.
The Prius is rated an AT-PZEV, or Advanced Technology-Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle. The Prius puts out no emissions during part of the time it is driving and operating. This is the highest level of emission value, just under a purely electric vehicle.
Speaking for the hybrid batteries, there have been confirmed cases of less than 3% of all owners who have paid to replace their nickel metal hydride (NiMH) hybrid batteries outside of warranty.
That is 3% of over 1.7 million owners of Toyota/Lexus hybrids. There have been NiMH replaced due to accidents or owner abuse/modification that were not covered by Toyota, but those are rare cases.
Hybrids also use a 12 volt lead acid battery that will eventually break down, just like any other vehicle. But the hybrid battery is a nickel metal hydride one and they do not break down like lead acid batteries.
Our federal government has tested NiMH batteries from the Prius and discovered they still maintain 90% of their capacity after 100,000 miles. Look up the testing at the DOE website.
On to the maintenance of a Prius (these prices came directly from a Toyota dealership last year)...
The cost of operation of a 2006-2009 Prius is a little less than .10 cents per mile for each 100,000 miles of operation:
- There is no steering belt or steering pump, the system is electronic and uses electric motors. There is no belt to wear and no pump to lose fluid out of. No additional parts to replace or maintain.
- There is no timing belt, only a timing chain that is self-adjusting. No part to replace.
- There is no accelerator cable or cable linkage, once again, it is electronic. So there is no loss of acceleration over time from cable stretch and wear like on a standard vehicle. No additional parts to replace or maintain.
- The brake pads should never need to be replaced, they are hardly used due to the regenerative braking system. No parts to replace or maintain.
- You never touch the NiMH battery or the hybrid system, it is self-regulating. No parts to replace or maintain.
- The gas engine is not tuned up for 100,000 miles. At even 15,000 miles per year, that's about seven years. And then...
- four spark plugs run $12.00 each, four is $48.00 (the wires aren't replaced and there are no distributors because each cylinder has a direct injection module and they are not replaced)
- coolant is $15.50 a gallon and you need two gallons, or $31.00 (if you live in an extremely hot or cold climate, you might need to change the coolant 2X in 100,000 miles so figure $62.00 there)
- air filters are $18.00 for the engine and $25.00 for the cabin and are replaced every 15,000 miles. So over 100,000 miles, we'll go high and say 7 sets of air filters at $301.00.
- at 100,000 miles, inspect the wiring, change the oil (might as well, since you're there) lube, inspect and flush the brake lines, flush the coolant if necessary. It runs about $225.00, which includes parts.
- the sealed, continuously variable transmission fluid is not changed until 90,000 miles, about $140.00
- The OEM (Original Equipment from the Manufacturer) Goodyear Integrity's are about $113.00 each, installed. The originals are low-rolling resistance, specialty tires, just like a truck or sports car. They will last about 35,000 or so. Three sets of 4 OEM tires- over 105,000 miles- will run $1356.00 installed (3 sets of 4 at $113.00 each = $1356.00).
- Oil and filter changes every 3000 miles and tire rotations every 6000 miles, just like any other vehicle. Oil changes are about $26.00 and tire rotations are about $18.00, or about $884.00 for oil changes and $306.00 for rotations over 100,000 miles
So, over 100,000 miles, for regular service, a Prius should run about $3322.00, rounded to $3400.00, or about .034 cents per mile.
Gas at $3.00 per gallon will run about you about $783.00 (12,000 miles per year / EPA combined 46 mpg = 261 gallons used X 3.00 = $783.00, or $6500 over 100,000 miles).
I get 51.7 as a year long average with the AC and stereo on in the Upper Midwest.
Total the maintenance and the gas usage and you get about $9900 per 100,000 miles.Would a Toyota Prius be a good car to buy?Its a hybrid (petrol and electric motor), designed for fuel efficiency, but even then it's not very economical (they generally get about 30mpg, maybe a bit more, whereas a similarly priced and engined diesel gets 60 or 70mpg). You certainly don't buy one based on features and how it drives, you buy it if you are a self-proclamed "greenie", but diesel is ultimately more fuel efficient than any hybrid. And plus Priuses are way overpriced, and contrary to what you may think they don't have as many features as a conventional petrol car at the same price. You could probably get a better car than that for the price of the Prius.Would a Toyota Prius be a good car to buy?I own an '07, and while the fuel economy is nice, the main reason why I bought a Prius is because it is mechanically simpler and more reliable than a regular car.
The Prius transmission has all of just 22 moving parts. No clutch, no hot-running torque converter, no gear-shifting wear-and-tear like a regular car. Because of the simplicity of the Prius transmission, it is very low-maintenance with far fewer potential failure points than a regular-car transmission. How the Power Split Device transmission in the Prius works: http://www.eahart.com/prius/psd
A side benefit of the PSD transmission is that it can use the electrical traction motor to brake the car, by turning the car's forward momentum into storable electricity. This regenerative braking saves wear on brake pads tremendously, which is why the Prius does not need a brake pad change until well after 100,000 miles.
The Prius has no timing belt, no alternator, and no starter solenoid/motor to wear out and need replacement.
Such mechanical simplicity means much less time spent in the shop for maintenance, and I love it.
And the hybrid system (including battery) is backed by a standard 8-year / 100,000-mile warranty (10 years / 150,000-miles in the eight states with California-standard emissions laws). Battery reliability is a non-issue, not with that kind of warranty covering it. And anyone who thinks the Prius battery need replacement every few years or "gets damage on the highway" knows absolutely nothing about the Prius.
The Prius is by far the most reliable car I've ever owned. After being spoiled by the low-maintenance technology in the Prius, regular cars feel downright primitive. I am never going back to a regular car.Would a Toyota Prius be a good car to buy?
Generally, it is a very good city car. Comfortable and v.economical. But if your journey consist mainly highway, it is better not to go for Hybrid as the battery will be damaged if it is always low in charged. Beside, it will also become addition weight.
I managed to achieve 25km/l while driving in Japan city and some highway.
Cheers, happy motoring

Just so you know... the OBX headers you won't be able to pick up anyway because they are on back order for years lol.
Aside from that you are looking at SRI and a full custom exhaust.
I hate to break it to you but its not a car that you can just throw stuff on and make it go fast. This isn't a honda civic.
The cheapest means to get more power would be to ship your cams out to webcams and get the 294 regrind... that'll add around 20 peak hp but its a $600 job.
With that said we both know how these cars handle on the twisties so if you're willing to put the work into it you will enjoy it nonetheless.
If you're looking for power your best bet is either a custom turbo job (which will be explained on the site) Or a 3s series engine swap from a Celica GT-4.

Can I disable the horn feedback I get when locking and unlocking my 94 Toyota Land Cruiser?
I have a 95 Toyota Land Cruiser that honks (beeps) everytime I use the keyless remote. Other cars I've had provided different types of "feedback" when locking the vehicle that you could choose, such as the lights flashing or nothing at all. Does the this model toyota land cruiser have a similar option and how do engage it so that the horn stops honking everytime I hit a button to unlock it?Can I disable the horn feedback I get when locking and unlocking my 94 Toyota Land Cruiser? This is just the type of alarm that was installed on your 80 series...You can go to a alarm shop and they will fix the problem...The easy way is to just pull the wire to the horn and use the finger when you get discouraged from another driver...Can I disable the horn feedback I get when locking and unlocking my 94 Toyota Land Cruiser?I would refer to your owner's manual. Most keyless entry remotes have some sort of code that you can disable the horn. I was able to do this with my Neon.
Why is Toyota so insistent their acceleration problems are mechanical rather than electronic?
Throughout the acceleration problem fiasco, Toyota has insisted the problem is a mechanical one involving the gas pedal. Simultaneously Toyota categorically denied the problem involves the electronic systems. It doesn't appear they completely know the cause, but in public statements they have flatly eliminated electronics as the culprit.
I earned a BS in mechanical engineering and worked for about 10 years as a manufacturing / quality engineer. When tackling problems, we never eliminated possibilities until we considered everything until we found the root problem. Toyota seems to be doing the opposite: They've reflexively eliminated the electronics and are fishing around for cause among the remaining possibilities, however far-fetched (e.g. floor mats).
What's going on? Is there a liability issue in play? For instance, does Toyota share the same electronics among many of its vehicles, meaning millions more are at risk than Toyota would like to admit? Is the problem so intermittent that it is difficult to reproduce? (If so, I'd think electronics are at least a factor.) Or is something else going on?Why is Toyota so insistent their acceleration problems are mechanical rather than electronic? It's called CYA, and denial.
Replacing the computer in an auto is very expensive. To do this on many millions of autos could break the company. And you are correct, the same problem could be in many more of their autos, and could extend to other manufacturers.
.Why is Toyota so insistent their acceleration problems are mechanical rather than electronic?
Toyota sucks. I hope that company burns to the ground. Why is Toyota so insistent their acceleration problems are mechanical rather than electronic?Hardly matters. It is plain to anyone outside the USA that Toyota is being attacked by a conglomerate made up of car makers and unions, with the purpose of reducing Toyotas presence in North America. The rate of failures is well within industry standards. Why is Toyota so insistent their acceleration problems are mechanical rather than electronic?
My father works on cars and we have had multiple discussions about it. To us, it sounds like a software problem perhaps in the cruise control... but it's hard to determine. What really gets me is that they've known about this problem for years and are just now deciding to correct it because legal authority made them. I really hate toyota for many reasons and this is just the icing on top. To everyone who reads this, save a job and by American!!!Why is Toyota so insistent their acceleration problems are mechanical rather than electronic? The way I see it is that Toyota is saying the electronics in the car are not to blame so they look for other issues. I would conclude that even if the electronics are not to blame It should be obvious by now that they are inadequate or as some would say "cheap".
Anyone knows how to take out a headlight housing on 2000 Toyota Corolla?
I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla, and I want to change the headlight housings with new ones, because it becomes foggy on the inside, but I don't know how to dissasemble them. Please help...Anyone knows how to take out a headlight housing on 2000 Toyota Corolla? If you're not too concerned about looks, the rear bumper of a Ford F-250 will take the light out quite easily.
No, there is a bolt behind the grille and another behind the side marker light that you have to remove to get the housing out.Anyone knows how to take out a headlight housing on 2000 Toyota Corolla? In 2000 the headlight is not replaceble (cheaply atleast). It is a special molded piece that is only available through Toyota. They are extreamly expensive to replace. The Foggy ness is generally from being parked in the sun. The sun breaks down the plastick and will make it foggy and m,aybe yellowish. The cheap alternative to replacing this part (that costs $100+ to replace) is to take a rubbing compound and buff the whole front of the lense. this will take off the fogg area (with alot of elbo grease).

What microenvironmental factors affected the introduction and re-launched of the Toyota Prius?
How well has Toyota deals with these factors? What microenvironmental factors affected the introduction and re-launched of the Toyota Prius?great! It is only real hybrid sold, period. I,ll give anybody $1000.00 to prove me wrong. Higher air say (Denver) would get better gas after a month of driving. The reason for price drop besides more built now, dealer gets a big dealer rebate so it can be sold for discount, here in Fl. $22.900.00. Also since 2003 the Prius has gotten better enginenuaty and gets way better MPG-52 and 48 and have over 25 letters and messages from customers who went on a trip and averaged 51-52 MPG for at least 1000 miles or whole trip which may be more miles. What microenvironmental factors affected the introduction and re-launched of the Toyota Prius?look into the book "The Prius that Shook the World," originally in Japanese but it has been translated into English. At one time you could order the English version of the book for free from the Toyota Material Distribution Center (where you can also order owner's manuals, repair manuals, and electrical wiring diagrams), but they ran out... But you can still find the PDF version of the book online in several places. The book outlines the reasoning behind, timeline, and development of the Toyota Prius out of the G21 Project.

Where might I start to troubleshoot the cruise control on my toyota camry 93'?

Why does Toyota make Lexus good looking, but all other Toyota cars ugly?
So Toyota makes Lexus cars really good looking, luxurious, nice. But then they make the Camry and Corollas and the rest of Toyotas ugly boring plain.
Same thing with Honda they make the Acuras really good looking, and the Accord and Civic plain.
So my question is Why is this? Why dont they just make all their cars good looking? Why does Toyota make Lexus good looking, but all other Toyota cars ugly? It's called brand differentiation. How do you access the rear view camera on the toyota prius?
i have driven a few toyota prius' and noticed that sometimes when putting it in reverse, a rear view camera appears on the display screen. was curious if it was a standard or not on all priuses. How do you access the rear view camera on the toyota prius?Just put the Prius in reverse. The camera will come on IF you have it.
It comes in the Prius with the package #2 through package #6.
Once in reverse, it comes on. Put the car in drive and it shuts off.

What happens when a Toyota Prius runs out of gas?
Okay, first things first.
My girlfriends' mom/dad seem to think that if they ever run out of gas in their 2007 Toyota Prius (hybrid) that the car's engine or some part of the car will "blow up". Now I don't think this is quite the case and I've tried some mild research with inadequate results.
Does anyone know of anything like this ever happening, or is this just a myth. What happens when a Toyota Prius runs out of gas?Just another myth conception.
When you run out of gas in the Prius, all that happens is that you get an array of warning lights on the dash. You can still drive a short distance on electric power but don't count on more than half a mile or so (this distance will vary by the amount of charge in the battery, speed, and terrain). Put more gas in and the lights will go out. Some Yahoo group members have run out dozens of times on purpose (for testing).
The manual indicates it's possible to run the traction battery down so far that you won't be able to start the Prius and will need to have the traction battery charged. However, Prius group members who've run theirs really far when out of gas indicate that the Prius shuts down before then, so perhaps it's only the earlier years this applies to. If you shut it off while there are still two bars on the battery icon, you'll never have to worry.
As in most modern cars, the fuel pump is located in the gas tank and is cooled by the gas so running out of gas won't be that good for the fuel pump. I've never heard of anyone actually having to replace one due to running out of gas.
In 80,000 miles on a 2001 and 104,000 miles on a 2004 my wife and I have yet to run out. Just fill as soon as you see the "Add Fuel" light and the blinking fuel gauge bar. If it's cold out or you are in an unfamiliar area, then fill when there is one or two bars left but before it starts blinking. This is really no different than what you would do in any vehicle. What happens when a Toyota Prius runs out of gas?
I ran out of gas on a Michigan Interstate. We were on two bars at a rest stop about ten miles before, and suddenly the lights came on and the car slowed down. I was able to run on electric to the next exit and, per the manual had it towed to the local Toyota dealer 45 miles away. Expensive trip.
I've only run out once, the car shut down, reasonably gracefully, allowing me to pull over and stop, but the electric motor would not run. I was able to stop, shut down, start up again, put it in EV mode and run a very short distance. I was fortunate enough to be on a downhill slope with fuel at the bottom. I took a couple of tries, but soon was rolling, generating power enough to keep the hybrid system happy enough not to notice the lack of fuel. Filled up and away.
The hybrid control system does everything it can to protect the main battery and will do it's very best not to let you run it down too low to start.
It won't do any great harm, but don't rely on the electric mode to get you out of trouble. What happens when a Toyota Prius runs out of gas?If the battery is discharged, it stops like any other car that runs out of gas. If the battery has a bit left in it, it may be able to proceed at slow speed to the next station to refuel. What happens when a Toyota Prius runs out of gas?

What happens when a Toyota Prius runs out of gas? This was a on a Saturday Night and had to wait until Monday to find out all it needed was gas. The manual said if the Hybrid system light comes on, immediately have it towed to a dealer. Long story short, it would have been nice to know that adding gas resets the system.Report Abuse

If you saw a Toyota Corolla and someone said 'guess the age of the driver', what would you assume?
Some cars I know are perceived to be 'old-person' cars, some cars you would see as assume are a farmer's car, executive's car, housewife's car or hippie's car. And yet other cars, to look at them, you think they were driven by a petrol-head youth. I know these assumptions we make are not necessarily factual or based on anything other than our own thoughts. But, I am interested in people鈥檚 opinion: In your opinion how old would you assume the driver of a small Toyota corolla sedan would be?If you saw a Toyota Corolla and someone said 'guess the age of the driver', what would you assume?20's or an oldddd guy who drives those cars.If you saw a Toyota Corolla and someone said 'guess the age of the driver', what would you assume?

I would think they're in their late teens to late 20's. I feel the Corolla is more of a sporty car and older folks would aim for the camry instead. Hope this helps :)If you saw a Toyota Corolla and someone said 'guess the age of the driver', what would you assume?I'd guess under 25 or over 60. I'd pick by seeing the hair color...

How do I turn off the lights for my 2007 Toyota Corolla Sport?I own a 2007 model like yours and the other answerers responded right . Are you referring to the FOG lights or Daytime lights, and one exception, don't go to the dealership to ask them to disconnect them, you'll be looked at as " Dummy". It is a safety feature and it qualifies for a discount from the car insurance company. That will not hurt your car in anyway.. The daytime running lights are a safety feature from the manufacture.. What cars are just as good as a 96-97 toyota camry?
I'm shopping for a used car and I heard toyota's are pretty good, and was wondering what over makes equal or surpass that brand. When it comes to reliability and gas mileage in that 1996-2000 era.
Thanks in advance. What cars are just as good as a 96-97 toyota camry? The 1997 Camry was probably the most reliable mainstream car of that era. See the first source for owner reviews. Be aware that the V6 is notorious for sludge if the oil change intervals are not followed faithfully, and the sludge gets very bad very fast. Change the oil on schedule and the problem does not exist. See the second source for an example.
That was not a stellar time for many of the major manufacturers. Honda had problems with ignition switches and the ever-troublesome main relays. Honda also had horrible problems with the automatic transmissions they used with their 6 cylinder engines between 1998 and 2004. It is wise to avoid those altogether. GM was doing some wild and wacky things, with terrible problems in their vehicles that used the new Electric Power Steering. Their adoption of the Passlock anti-theft system leaves a lot of people wondering why their car won't start; it seems more effective against owners than against thieves. The real thief-stopper was Dex-cool, the GM-required coolant that destroyed intake manifold gaskets on the 6 cylinder engines and was sludging up cooling systems on all GM models in the late 1990s.
Ford was beginning to improve in the late 1990s. The nightmares they had with the first decade or so of AXOD transmissions were under control and they had begun to use better parts. GM and Ford had both been catering to the fleet market for so long they appeared to be making their cars to last for three years. A family friend had a 1990 Escort that had just made it out of warranty and still had a year of payments left when the water pump seized, destroying the timing belt and showering the cylinders with debris from what had moments before been valve guides. At four years old the car was not worth repairing, and I had already heard occasional stories of the same thing from other sources. By 2000 Ford was putting some good cars on the road... although even Ford-o-philes will warn about the Contour.
Chrysler still just didn't get it. Their passenger cars were as troublesome in the 1990s and at least early 2000s as the 1984 Dodge 600 we had. One of the three cars we ever bought new, it was the most troublesome car we ever owned. Much of that was from the Mitsubishi power train. What cars are just as good as a 96-97 toyota camry?Honda's are far better in my opinion. Excellent engineering, quality, gas mileage and parts that do happen to break are a dime a dozen due to their popularity. What cars are just as good as a 96-97 toyota camry? All cars made are just as good or better.

How can I protect my car from scratches from our cats? We bought a new 2009 Toyota Highlander.?
We just bought a new 2009 Toyota Highlander. We keep it in our garage every night, but we also have 4 cats that run around the garage. With our current car (a 2005 Ford Explorer), we have caught them on it, and there are scratch marks on the hood and the top of the car from them. With the new car, we will also have a sunroof, so that is also a problem.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! How can I protect my car from scratches from our cats? We bought a new 2009 Toyota Highlander.?A 16 gauge seems to work quite well. How can I protect my car from scratches from our cats? We bought a new 2009 Toyota Highlander.?
Not letting the Cats into the Garage is really the only thing you can do about it.
Often Cats like to sleep on top of the Hoods because the engine stays warm for hours after you shut the engine off.
There are expensive protective finishes you can buy and have applied. They are like your Clear Coat but harder and more resistant to scratching and chipping. But they are very expensive.
I would just try to keep them out.

Keep the kitties out of the garage or declaw them.
Declaw them.
Otherwise you'll spend hours trying to teach them not to get on the car (when one jumps on it, hit the alarm button). But they only learn through multiple attempts. Keeping the cats out of the garage would be my preference since some day you may start up the car and have a cat under the hood. Perhaps more correctly, a has been cat....

Look at the face of the existing radio. if it is about 2 and 1/2 inches high then it would be a single din radio. if it is larger then you will need to get a double din radio or a face plate kit.
the path to a great sound systems always starts with the head unit. because your amp and speakers will only play what is sent ot them. for this reason you will want to ask about distortion level.. most high end stereo shops have a radio deck. this allows them to punch a button and quickly show you the radio ---amp-- and speaker combo your are inquiring about.. this makes it easy to remove the amp from the loop. and just hear the radio by itself.. once he has this ready then turn up the volume. listen for the point where the sound quality starts to distort, or simply ask him to show you the specs for the radio and compare.
my personal favorite is the Kenwood Excelon series. these radio's offer top notch sound.

How to reset the Maintenance required light on my 07 Toyota Corolla, Hope you can help?
After changing the oil on my 07 toyota corolla the maintence required light need to be reset, but my owners manual has no instructions on how to reset the light, Please help, From JackHow to reset the Maintenance required light on my 07 Toyota Corolla, Hope you can help?(a) Set the display window to ODO.
(b) Turn the ignition switch off.
(c) Pressing the reset switch turn the ignition switch to the ON position (keep pressing for at least 5 seconds).
(d) Reset procedure is completeHow to reset the Maintenance required light on my 07 Toyota Corolla, Hope you can help?
Actually, I was able to find the reset procedure in my copy of the 2007 Corolla Owner's Manual, on page 110. (Mine is an electronic PDF copy, so the page number could be off by a little from the paper version. It's listed as page 118 of the PDF, but the page itself says 110). Anyway, here's what that said;
Reset the system by the following procedure:
Turn the ignition key to the “ACC” or “LOCK” position with the odometer reading shown.
(For details, see “Odometer and two trip meters” on page 100 in this Section.)
Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position while holding down the trip meter reset knob.
Hold down the button for at least 5 seconds. The odometer indicates “000000” and the light goes off.
Here's the relevant section referred to in the earlier segment, as being located on page 100;
This meter displays the odometer and two trip meters when the ignition switch is on.
1. Odometer—Shows the total distance the vehicle has been driven.
2. Two trip meters—Show two different distances independently driven since the last time each trip meter was set to zero.
You can use one trip meter to calculate the fuel economy and the other to measure the distance on each trip. All trip meter data is cancelled if the electrical power source is disconnected.
3. Trip meter reset knob—Resets the two trip meters to zero, and also change
the meter display.
To change the meter display, quickly push and release the knob. The meter display changes in the order from the odometer to trip meter A to trip meter B, then back to the odometer each time you push.
To reset the trip meter A to zero, display the meter A reading, then push and hold the knob until the meter is set to zero. The same process can be applied for resetting the trip meter B.
And although I can't explain this, when I looked it up on the Alldata Technicians Reference, it seemed to vary from what Larry L posted as apparently being from that same source;
1. Turn the ignition switch to the On position and ensure that the LCD display screen is in the odometer mode.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the Off position.
3. While pressing the TRIP switch button, turn the ignition switch On. Hold the button down through the entire reset procedure.
4. Continue to push the TRIP switch button for at least 5 seconds. The reset operation is completed in 5 seconds.
5. Turn the ignition switch to the Off position.
6. Turn the ignition switch On again and confirm that the oil replacement reminder light stays on for 1 seconds and then goes Off.
7. Place the ignition switch in the Off position. How to reset the Maintenance required light on my 07 Toyota Corolla, Hope you can help?you have got some good advice here the holding of the trip meter reset is correct but you may have to have it set to trip A before shuting the key off then hold the trip meter reset in while turning the key to the on position wait for the little lines to count down and show all 0 depending on year and model it may need to be on odo. or trip A

Whats causing my 1995 toyota camry to make clicking noises when i take a sharp right turn?
My toyota makes clicking sounds when i turn right...does anyone know the problem? What could i do to fix it?Whats causing my 1995 toyota camry to make clicking noises when i take a sharp right turn?Your driver side CV joint is starting to fail. You can let it go for a good while depending on how you drive and weather conditions. Driving through water puddles is very bad. It is almost the same price to buy the parts to fix it as it is to buy the whole axle. You just take out the old and put in the new. A mechanic should take around 1.5 - 2 hours to replace with new axle. With your knowledge, I would estimate it taking you anywhere from 6 - 8 hours. Buying the axle at an auto parts store would cost around $100 - $150. Mechanic's labor would be anywhere from $150 - $200 for the job.Whats causing my 1995 toyota camry to make clicking noises when i take a sharp right turn?
CV (constant velocity) joints are bad. They are the little rubber boot things that connect your transmission to the tyres. They click, and as they get worse, they snap, crackle and pop into different pieces. They usually go out one at a time, but it's better to replace both since it's usually a short time from one going out till the other fails.Whats causing my 1995 toyota camry to make clicking noises when i take a sharp right turn?Sounds like a your CV joint is going out.
Look behind the front right wheel - is there grease everywhere?
If so, you have tore the boot, dirt and materials have gotten in there and destroyed the joint.
You'll need to take it to a mechanic, it's a moderate job.Whats causing my 1995 toyota camry to make clicking noises when i take a sharp right turn?
It's the right hand outer CV (constant velocity) joint. cv's are stuffed

How do I install a new stereo in my 94 Toyota Tercell?
I bought a new Stereo deck for my 94 Toyota Tercell and I cant seem to get power to it. The color of the wires are different and also have extra mystery wires left over. I have looked up diagrams but none seem to help get power to the deck. I am not using an amp because the speakers are low volt. Any suggestions? How do I install a new stereo in my 94 Toyota Tercell?Ya may need to get a wire harness adaptor from auto zone or advance auto. That should help with the mystery wire problems. The adaptor will have some extra wire cuz it will be for a 90 to 98 Toyota adaptor or something in that range. Pretty cheap too.
How can you say toyota cars are boring?
You can buy a brand new or used toyota that at a moments notice, takes off full throttle, has such awkwardly designed controls that u can't turn it off or put it in neutral! That's what I call driving excitement! How can you say toyota cars are boring? No way !!!!
They are lots of fun when you are driving down the highway and your Tacoma frame falls in half from the rust !!!!How can you say toyota cars are boring?
Well the owner of Toyota (last name Toyoda) is the grandson of the founder and is a part time racer. He has said that Toyota needs to be refreshed with more interesting and fun cars, so he is developing the next Celica which will closely resemble the last Supra. I think it's called the FT86 right now.
Subaru and Toyota are going to share the concept and they'll both develop their own variants. The base model will be a RWD 4-cylinder and then they're making a 200+ hp turbo version. Should be interesting.
But yes, Toyota right now is boring as hell.

Can I Remove the emission control components from my 1981 toyota 4x4?
I have a 1981 Toyota pickup that runs very rich. I have had the o2 sensor replaced, it did not help. I can not find an idle mixure screw and have been told that there is not an idle mixure screw on this carb. There is at least 30 different vacume hoses going from here to there around the intake and carb. I would like to put a carb from a 20r engine (one with a mixture screw) and remove all that stuff that I do not understand. I only want to see a vacume hose going to my brake booster, and my distributer. Is this possible? I do not care about passing any emission tests as I live in the middle of nowhere and don't ever care to move to California. Can I Remove the emission control components from my 1981 toyota 4x4?California isn't the only place with emissions tests, but if the carb has the same bolt pattern there's probably nothing stopping you from swapping it on and plugging all the emissions stuff. Can I Remove the emission control components from my 1981 toyota 4x4?you could remove them yes but i am wondering why because it will not only screw with the way the car runs it is illegal and why ruin the air you breath even more

Why would you pay 30k for a Lexus when you can get the same car- a Toyota for way cheaper?
What is the deal? Toyota and Lexus both use the same cheap quality parts, just because Lexus reputation is so high as a luxury car doesn't make it better than other luxury cars. For example an Infiniti M45 or an Audi's a typically around the same price as Lexus's and they use way better parts. Why would you pay 30k for a Lexus when you can get the same car- a Toyota for way cheaper?I look at it the same way. Also, why would I want to buy a car for 30k when I can buy a decent - in shape house - for the same price, put 30k more into it and turn it around and sell it for 100k? Then use that money to buy a car that is 3 yrs old, 60k miles with 2yrs left on the the warranty for about 5k and walk away with money left over. When cars become the prices of small homes or 6 yrs worth of house payments, it's definitely time to rethink the economy in which we live.
Sorry for the ramblings, but I hope you see what I am getting at. Why would you pay 30k for a Lexus when you can get the same car- a Toyota for way cheaper?
Whay ask a question if you already know the answer? Six out of seven people say one thing, and you think the one person out of the group that says the opposite is the best answer?.?.? Three "downs" and that's the one you choose as "best"?
Nice...
the parts infiniti mostly uses are nissan parts so i dont see how your gonna say lexus uses cheap parts.. infiniti does the same thing..
audi is just an expenisive vw, audi uses vw parts so see its pretty much the same for all different car brands
buy a car or shutup please
When you can afford one, you will understand why people are willing to pay for quality. According to most reputable auto experts, what brand consistently has the highest customer satisfaction rankings? Lexus...
P.S. How's that coolant flush plug on your '99 Malibu coming? Why would you pay 30k for a Lexus when you can get the same car- a Toyota for way cheaper?you are totally wrong buddy. sure some of them use the same platforms, but a lexus is NOT a toyota. especially in the interior. I'm not so concern about whether you really understand the difference between toyota and lexus in terms of the overall quality, driving experience, luxury, etc....but one thing you should keep it mind that once GM goes bankrupt then your Malibu will become just a piece of junk and you should get rid of it now or regret later....or another option will be why you need to consider selling it since you are already driving the cheapest car now? Not to be mean but you really need to do more research before asking the question above...
you obviously havent driven a car that is worth more than 15k. keep flying coach, what you dont know wont hurt you.Why would you pay 30k for a Lexus when you can get the same car- a Toyota for way cheaper?
Toyota makes Lexus and Scion just 1 has less bling and 1 more. Honda and Acura, Nissan and Infiniti-all the same. The Camry is made same place as es300. A Camry XLE V6 and loaded is 32,000 and Lexus is 36,000. People like the name. The parts are best made as all 3 brands are most reliable in world. And to the person who said Lexus is top selling car in US it is in luxery car class. Camry is best selling car and Toyota is best selling New brand.
ask yourself, Luxury vs economic. Infiniti parts arent that much better. Audi is german, all the german car makers use high quality expensive parts... in comparison to japanesevance and hines

Why Has NASCAR taken away so much horsepower from the Toyota engine?
It hardly seems fair, they favor Chevrolet so much and it is so obvious! Are they picking on Toyota because they are Japanese? Why did they let them run in the first place then?
Anyone with insight into this please help! Why Has NASCAR taken away so much horsepower from the Toyota engine? There has been a lot of conspiracy against Toyota ever since they over took GM as the #1 auto maker in the world. This is especially sad as to my understanding, the Toyota is currently the only Cup car who's production model is actually made in the USA. Last I knew the production models of GM, Ford and Dodge Cup cars were made in plants in Canada and Mexico. Last I knew, ALL Toyota's sold in the USA are MADE in the USA. And to boot, Toyota didn't have to go to the Government with their @$$ES in their hands to survive the economic downturn. It's funny how Toyota and Ford saw what was coming and prepared for it, while GM and Chrysler acted invincible, till they both nearly went belly up.
xxWhy Has NASCAR taken away so much horsepower from the Toyota engine?
On Average Toyota's use 60% parts sourced from overseas. They only have 4 (low wage assembly) plants in the US. If they sell the same amount of cars as GM in the US why does GM have 30+ plants in the US?
In the Nationwide series they were tired of Kyle dominating!
I haven't heard anything on the Cup side.

What do I need to know before I take a Toyota Sienna's grinding brakes in for repair?
When the brakes are applied on a 1999 Toyota Sienna, there is a horrific grinding noise. A pretty loud grinding noise. My strong belief is that the brakes are well past their useful life, and have probably been driven to the point where the repair is going to be expensive.
So, now, before I take it into a shop and "trust" someone to diagnose and repair the problem, I am wondering if I can pull the wheels and see how much damage is involved. Is there anyone who can give me a laundry list of items to look at, what okay/not okay looks like, and... maybe even a very rough cost magnitude if it is known?
For what it is worth, I am not a mechanic but I can easily get a jack take a wheel off and look at things. It sure would be nice to know something when I am dealing with an auto repair shop. At the moment, I am a sitting duck for a dishonest garage. What do I need to know before I take a Toyota Sienna's grinding brakes in for repair? The only thing you need to know is your bank balance.
The rotors are shot. You need pads, rotors, probably new calipers, and if the grinding was caused by a faulty master cylinder, you will need one of those too. There is a good chance that contamination got into the brake lines on at least one of the calipers due to the drawback of brake fluid from excessive caliper piston movement, so you may even need a new brake line. That is of course the worst case scenario.
All in all I would roughly guess at a 600 to 800 dollar repair bill, but it may be more. What do I need to know before I take a Toyota Sienna's grinding brakes in for repair? You need to take it to a Toyota dealer first %26amp; fore most. You most likely will need new pads and if you have driven for too long with them grinding you may need new rotors.
If you go to Midas you will need calipers, pads and rotors. DO NOT go to any aftermarket shop period. They will put very cheap, very hard pads on your vehicle and then you will have squealing and warp the rotors very quickly. Most Toyota Dealers perform brake jobs at a reasonable cost (we charge $179.95 for a brake job with new factory pads and resurfacing the rotors)
Good Luck

Maybe your break pads need changing and you could go to Autozone or some store and buy those and change the break pads yourself. If that isn't the problem then you'd have to go to a shop and see what is wrong with you breaks. Try the first suggestion b4 you spend a lot of money just in case.

How long will a Toyota engine last?
If you buy a Toyota car with a odometer reading of 100,000 kms, assuming its in good codistion, with proper maintenance, How long or at what odometer reading will it start to burn oil?How long will a Toyota engine last?I believe if previous owner had taken car of it, you should be able to get 250-400,000 KM See why below.
100,000 = about 62,000 miles right? Ask, (and hopefully believe the previous owner), when they changed the oil. or look for receipts. Look at the general condition of the car. If owner garaged, and or kept really clean, more than likely a car freak like myself and religously changed the oil. Which can be the most important thing! Look at dipstick for oil, should light brown and should not smell of gas, and tranny dipstick, should be RED, not Brown. These will give you sense of how the car was taken car of too.
Today's fuel injected cars control air gas mix better than old carb models. older carb models would drip gas and make a wear out spot on the piston. Any car can burn a liter / (qt) every 3000 miles(5000KM) but I do not think you should have that problem at least at first.
Do not change oil viscosity on car until you truely need to. Todays engine tolerances are so much closer, putting in higher oils such as 20W-50 will cause problems. (heavier oils for old cars and race cars and such, with more ring slop). How long will a Toyota engine last?
Good thorough answer. But I believe your #'s are short. A toyota engine, when not abused (overheated or short on oil) will last approx double your estimates.
Not a guess..my personal experiences with my 7 Toyotas... :)

Toyotas will EASILY last 250,000-300,000 miles. Don't worry about the OD so much, Toyotas are great cars %26amp; will last for a LONG time with proper maintenance. How long will a Toyota engine last?We had a 95 Camry that had 170,000 miles on it when we sold it.How long will a Toyota engine last?

I owned a 1984 Toyota truck with the 22RE motor/Auto in it and it only lasted about 2500 miles before I was replacing it with another one. First model 22RE's have MAJOR design flaws STAY FAR FAR away from this motor. The 22R however is a VERY good reliable motor. My second truck was an 85 $x$ with a 22R and 5 speed. That motr was Awesome except I kept blowing the Transmission out in it.
make sure you change the timing belt at 100k km, try using ticker lub oil 20/40w , 20/50w could help also to prolonged the chances of overhauling, remember to use oem lub oil filters also, paying attention to the air filter is also important to the issue.
with this you could make it through 150k to 180k km,
thats what i did to my landcruiser running on 1KZ motor.
hope it helps, Merry Christmas
as long as it hasnt been ran hard, not for awhile
In my experiences, a Toyota engine needs to have the timing (belt, chain)? replaced at about 150,000 miles (240,000 km). If you don't do this, it will suddenly give out and when it does, you have to pull over immediately and shut off the car or you will destroy the engine. As for burning oil, I wouldn't worry about it too much as long as you check the oil level regularly and keep it where it is supposed to be.
i own a repair shop, and the longest i ever seen one go was 485 thousand miles ,,ans that was on a 78 Toyota corolla with a carburetor on it,,i owned it for a few of those miles,,and i sold it when it hit the 200 thousand mile mark,,i thought it was worn out,but not so,,as far as i know its still going today a little rusty,,but still running good
Hi and welcome
A Toyota will last as long as you take care of it ,oil changes 3k and trans services and basic care as far as how much mileage to expect that depends on you and your driving conditions like highway miles or city driving , I'm a master Toyota tech in a Toyota dealership and some of my good customers that i have serviced
for many years have way over 250-350k That's great. Toyota is a very good product ... Thanks very good question.????

How long will a Toyota engine last?It will last a long time--gas mileage should be a little worse but nothing to scream at mom about, the only suggestion I have is to know if the timing belt has been replaced.100000 miles is when it's due and if it hasn't been done then do it! with some engines if the timing belt breaks then the motor goes to the crapper-imports being more likely than domestic.what happens is the valves hit the piston(bad bad stuff)so if you are buying a car at 100000 miles then chances are someone doesn't want to pay for a new timing belt and they are passing that expense on to you.Oh and about that oil thing, chances are that it wont burn enough oil to worry about between oil changes.good luckToyotas will EASILY last 250,000-300,000 miles. Don't worry about the OD so much, Toyotas are great cars %26amp; will last for a LONG time with proper maintenance. How long will a Toyota engine last?We had a 95 Camry that had 170,000 miles on it when we sold it.How long will a Toyota engine last?
the usually dont burn oil..its still not even half way done!!! you should get another 150k at least!!!
as long as it has been taken care of... i would say 250000+How long will a Toyota engine last?
